Spent the day around Hexham visiting Hadrian's wall and Derwentwent water.
The weather continues to be very kind to us and our friend's Jackie & Peter are great hosts.
As you can see we are making use of all the hours available, it is getting dark at 4pm hence the attached picture was taken with a flash as we stood on some of the relics from Hadrians wall - It was built by the Romans in 122AD to keep the Scots out of England needless to say it "Failed"

The boat was parked on Derwentwater in the Lakes district.
It is as pretty as I remembered it to be and Clare is impressed by the Autum leaves and colours as winter approaches
